“Tim was amazing! My girlfriend and I went to Charleston for a girls weekend. Tim ended up canceling our tour for our scheduled date due to a family emergency, but offered us a private tour for the following day! How kind was that?! “Tim was awesome. Simply put. We had only 4 people on our tour which was great as we passed the groups of 25. Not sure if that is normal or not. Tim is a wealth of knowledge. It was hard to stump him as a 7th generation native. There was so much to talk about that we ran a bit long, almost 2.5 hours but it was worth every minute. We learned so much. Tim has great wit too. “We are from the west coast & had never been to Charleston & were there over a long weekend so had minimal time for various tours we would have liked to do. A family member had recommended Timothy. We opted for a private walking tour due to time limitations. We were not disappointed, & in fact it exceeded our expectaitions! Not only does Tim know countless intricate facts about the city, he also has a great understanding of the how and why behind it all. Tim's ability to give a real sense of what the city means to its residents, and to its country, is a rare gift that sets him apart from many other guides. We must have asked him a hundred questions, ranging from tiny details on buildings we passed to broad historical and economic themes. Tim capably handled them all. In addition to the usual sights on his tours, Tim was also gracious enough to walk us by the home my grandfather lived in as a young child. I even quizzed my daughter the day after and she had retained most of what she learned. Timothy has a great speaking voice so all should be able to hear. “Timothy Trouche is the most honest and knowledgeable person I know in Charleston, SC. Given his vast knowledge of history, coupled with his time in the United States Navy, the National Park Service, and being raised in the heart of Charleston, he is able to give a unique perspective and experience. During the tour I got to walk everything from the main roads to little known alleys and gardens. You learn different stories about some of the landmarks that touch the city’s founding, Revolution, Civil War (War Between the States), even up to the modern day. You wouldn’t go to Rome and eat at a fast food restaurant given their rich culinary culture, would you?
