Timothy Trouche, an eighth-generation Charleston native and third generation Charleston tour guide, wanted to share his hometown knowledge of Charleston’s rich history with travelers. Having both experience in the National Park Service and the carriage industry as a historian, being a tour guide came naturally. In 2019, Timothy decided to open Heart of Charleston Walking Tours, LLC.

The key to Heart of Charleston is in its name. Each and every tour travels through the “heart of Charleston” offering breathtaking views of the harbor, beautifully preserved historic homes, churches and gardens.

Heart of Charleston’s mission is to provide an unforgettable tour experience that includes providing guest with excellent customer service and factual historical accounts of the “Holy City” and her past. We aim to deliver a fun, engaging tour that shares our love of Charleston.
