Heart of Charleston Walking Tours is owned and operated by eighth generation Charleston native and Navy veteran Timothy Trouche. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Elon University in North Carolina, Timothy joined the National Park Service. He served as a Park Ranger at five National Parks as well as one State Park. In 2010, Timothy joined the United States Navy, where he served as a submariner. After his military service Timothy returned home to his roots to pursue his passion for history. As a former Equestrian Junior Olympian and having spent most of his life working with horses, he naturally was drawn to the carriage tour industry. In 2019, Timothy followed in the footsteps of his grandmother, uncle and two aunts by opening his own walking tour company, Heart of Charleston Walking Tours, LLC.
